The CCARPH Resilience Toolkit was officially launched last October 26, 2021 via Zoom and streamed simultaneously on the CCARPH Facebook Page. Viewers hailed from various cities in the Philippines, Europe, as well as from North America.
The launch opened with messages from CCARPH Project Holder and ADMU President Fr. Roberto Yap SJ, ADMU Vice President Dr. Marlu Vilches, and Senior Program Officer of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Ms Melanie Robertson. The Co-Principal Investigators spoke next, starting with CCARPH Project Leader Dr. Emma Porio (ADMU), followed by Ms. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga (President, NRC), and Ms. Jessica Dator-Bercilla (UPV).
Representatives for some of CCARPH’s academic, strategic and LGU partners also gave their messages: Dr. Clement Camposano (Chancellor, UPV), VAdm (Ret.) Alexander Pama (Co-Chair, ARISE Philippines), Fr. Roberto Rivera, SJ, (President, ADNU), Fr. Jett Villarin, (CCARPH Project Holder Jan 2018-July 2020, and Executive Director, MO), Mr. Wilfredo Prilles (Naga City CPDO), Mr. Sanny Jegillos (UNDP Bangkok), and Ms. Donna Magno (Iloilo City DRRMO). The launch was hosted by Joy Rocamora (CCARPH Research Associate and Resilience Toolkit web developer) while John Allanegui (CCARPH and Resilience Toolkit writer-editor) walked the viewers through the numerous features of the website.
The CCARPH Resilience Toolkit is designed to be a knowledge and learning space for local disaster risk reduction officers, planners, and risk and/or resilience practitioners to refer and use various technologies to enhance our cities’ climate and disaster resilience.
