The Coastal Cities at Risk in the Philippines – Urban Resilience Laboratory was part of the recently concluded Sandbox Open House of the Arete. Held last 23-24 September in the Sandbox Zone of the Innovation Wing, the Open House highlighted Arete’s “thrust towards innovation, as well as its mission to showcase creativity at work in the arts and sciences”. The event was open to the public, allowing all interested parties “to see the pioneering efforts of the Sandbox Residents in addressing an important issue”. Guests in the CCARPH area included students from the Ateneo, academic and LGU partners, as well as educators and researchers from the public and private sectors. On hand were Dr. Emma Porio, Project Leader and Principal Investigator, Joy Rocamora, CCARPH Research Associate, and Joshua Vidal, CCARPH Transdisciplinary Research Intern, to answer questions and foster conversations about relevant topics.
