Representatives from Coastal Cities at Risk in the Philippines: Investing in Climate and Disaster Resilience, met with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management head Mr. Bryant Wong last July 19, 2019.
The team, consisting of representatives from the CGE (Computable General Equilibrium), the Systems Thinking Tools/ City Resilience Suites of Systems Thinking Tools (SD/ST ), and the Ateneo Innovation Center toured the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and were oriented about the city’s current tools and technologies.
The team also paid a courtesy call to Hon. Vico Sotto once the tour was concluded.
Through this, CCARPH hopes to work with Pasig City representatives to craft a science-informed, gender-sensitive and socially inclusive resilience plan for the City that will be model for other cities in Metro Manila and the country. CCARPH and Pasig City are in the process of crafting a Partnership Agreement for the sharing of technologies and the collection of data.
The meeting is a follow-up of Mr. Bryant Wong’s visit to the CCARPH project and SAGIP exhibit last July 11, 2019, where he assessed the makeshift technologies that may be shared with Pasig City.
